Immigrants MR. TOMOHIRO KATAGIRI and MR. YOSHIO KATAGIRI Brothers opened
KATAGIRI BROTHERS INC. in 1907at 224 East 59th Street, Manhattan, NY.
It was before World War I.
In 1937 it was incorporated to New York State and named KATAGIRI & CO., INC.
They carried china were, groceries, magazines, tea and grained coffee.
And they delivered aggressively.(Fantastic pictures are attached)
After they managed over two generations, in April 1979 Central Trading Co., Ltd.
(Tokyo Japan) took over the Katagiri & Co., Inc. when Mr. Hiroshi Matsuo and
Mr. Joseph Katagiri retired.
In September 1990 Katagiri Seikatsu-kan opened at next door of the original
store. Now we are carrying food items (at 224 E.59St., original store)
and non-food items (at 226 E.59St., new store) separately.
